Oil is No Longer an Excuse

There’s something that’s been bugging me for the past several years: NYC taxi prices. I’m going to sound like an old fart, but, “I remember the day when,” a trip downtown cost $5. Yet, prices have come up over the years, more than two times. It didn’t happen in one fell swoop, but instead, incrementally. And different excuses have been given each time. [Read more]

The classic image of the entrepreneur is a twenty-something college grad (or drop-out), working out of their parents’ garage, living on a budget-conscious diet of ramen noodles. But today, Nov. 4th, is a day that you can dispel that image. Instead of living on-the-cheap (read: ramen), you can live on Epicurean luxuries like “Starbucks,” “Krispy Kremes,” “Ben & Jerry’s,” and more, all for FREE. How? [Read more]

Is the Price of Oil Ready to Skyrocket Again?

I know this post isn’t so much about entrepreneurship, but it is a topic I’ve been thinking a lot about lately: oil, what it’s done over the past year, and if the market is or even can price it correctly. As the market crashes and a global recession looms, and thus Wall Street expects global future oil needs to dramatically decrease, is everyone missing the most important fact? See, I have an interesting and either naive or brilliant outlook on oil. [Read more]

Why 35grove?

Many people have asked, “why did your pick the name, 35grove?”

The answer is simple: 35 Grove Street, NYC is the address of the apartment I was living in when I decided to make the switch from finance to entrepreneurship.

It’s also the spot where I conceived of my first company and started several more.

People always say that the simplest place to start is at the beginning; I took this to heart.

I now hope that 35grove… dot-com can serve as the beginning for many more.

Welcome

Welcome to the new home of 35grove.

By day, we like to help new companies get wings. We like to believe that we help people make ideas happen.

So what are we doing here? We thought it was about time to share our insights into entrepreneurship, and also serve as a place for our fellow entrepreneurs to share their own stories of success and failure, both of which are equally important.

To boot, we’re going to talk about everything else that’s interesting to us (usually art or gadgets).

So without further ado, welcome, and get read for a crazy good read in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. Or at least we hope!
